Mary Kaye Rueth

Dr. Mary Kaye Rueth, DPT

Dr. Mary Kaye Rueth is an experienced and highly skilled Doctor of Physical Therapy, having been practicing since 2007. She was born and raised in Munster, Indiana, and is the oldest of four siblings. Mary Kaye has two brothers, a sister, six nephews and a newborn baby niece, so she stems from a large family.

She graduated from Purdue University where, upon the conclusion of her studies, she moved to Chicago to carry out her post-baccalaureate work. Mary Kaye transitioned from personal training into a Doctor of Physical Therapy program, which provided her with a great continuum of care for her patients. This allowed her to address their needs, from restorative care to preventative maintenance and performance enhancement, such as in golf, fitness, or sports-specific training.

Mary Kaye is an avid golfer herself and also a modern abstract expressionist painter. These activities are two of her favorite hobbies, along with spending as much time as possible outside in the beautiful Naples weather with her dog Giuseppe, who also serves as Thrive PT and Wellness’ mascot.

Mary Kaye started life in the picturesque city of Naples as a snowbird when she was offered clinical rotations in Florida during her doctoral program. She traveled down for the winters and ended up staying and calling the state her home, eventually accepting positions as an independent contractor. She worked in multiple outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinics as well as a fitness community center, so she is well-ingrained in the local community.

In April 2013, she decided to start her own practice because she wanted to create something that truly reflected her values on how healthcare should be delivered. She curated an office space to feel like an art gallery, incorporating her hobbies into her work environment and ensuring it had a welcoming energy with a relaxing environment for all patients who walk through the doors of THRIVE Physical Therapy + Wellness. Mary Kaye wanted clients to enjoy coming to a space that felt positive and uplifting, which isn’t common in other orthopedic healthcare settings.

Her clinic has a boutique-style atmosphere, where she specializes in working one-on-one with every client. She genuinely enjoys helping clients along a continuum of care, supporting them every step of the way of their rehab journey.
